ACE Super Sniffers: Beginners
Your dog’s nose is amazing!
Join us for an exciting, fun, introduction to scentwork and see how quickly you and your canine partner can develop your skills as an ACE super sleuthing team. This is a practical learning day with the emphasis on the nose. Your dog will be encouraged to use their nose right from the outset and then will be introduced to a specific scent. Together you will have the opportunity to start working on a passive indication using the methodology as taught by the UKCSD (UK College of Scent Dogs). You will be introduced to how scent works, free searches, blind searches and how to put out appropriate hides to the skill level of each team as they develop. Indulge your dog’s love of using their nose and learn how to channel their natural behaviour into an activity you both can enjoy. What's included:
You will be required to practice the introductory games outlined in the Scentwork Games Handbook with your dog prior to the workshop. £95 per dog |
ACE Super Sniffers - Improvers
This workshop is open to those who have attended a workshop with Rach Birt before.
You've attended a previous nosework workshop with Rach so now get ready to broaden your handling skills, introduce your dog to a new scent, polish your passive indication and then add everything together and start practising your teamwork with some fun searches. This is a practical learning workshop with the emphasis on developing the individual skills of each canine search team. Everything is very dog centred and we guarantee you will learn something new about your dog and their super nose. On the two day workshop, the second day is on location where we will include vehicle searches, area searches, perimeter searches and more, all depending on you and your dogs' capabilities; we hope to throw in some extra special environmental searches too.
